Emily Scherb Presents:Applied Anatomy of Aerial Arts!

Sunday, September 30

Join us for an evening of learning with Dr. Emily Scherb, author of the only anatomy book written specifically for and about aerialists.

Specifically designed for aerialists — including those who do trapeze, silks, and other aerial arts — Applied Anatomy of Aerial Arts is an invaluable resource for those who want to optimize their performance and train safely.

Using a biomechanical and movement-based approach, Emily Scherb — a physical therapist who specializes in the care, treatment, and education of circus performers — explains the anatomical rationale for progressions of learning and demonstrates simple movements to achieve the coordination, muscular control, strength, and fitness to hang with correct form, how to progress from hanging into a pull up, an inversion, and beyond with a strong center, precise muscle sequencing, and ease of movement.

This event is FREE
6:30 – 7:30 pm
Circus Harmony, St. Louis MO

Books will be available for purchase with 50% of proceeds to be donated to Circus Harmony

John Towsen Presents: Angela Delfini Explains it All for You!

Friday & Saturday, October 12 & 13

Angela Delfini Explains It All For You, a full-length one-woman show directed by John Towsen, will play a limited engagement with Circus Harmony at the City Museum as part of their United States cross-country tour this fall.

Performances will be on Friday, October 12 at 8pm and Saturday, October 13 at 8pm. Tickets ($15; $10 students & seniors) are available online or by calling 1-800-838-3006. Please note that tickets do not include admission to City Museum (but you do not need to buy a museum ticket in order to see the show).

Join Delfini and her brave subject Estrella on a clownesque five-step recovery program full of unique challenges and you-can’t-go-home-again transformations. Can the maniacally confident Delfini get stuck-in-beta Estrella to dance and laugh her way to version 2.0 and beyond? Probably… but not without your help!

Angela Delfini Explains It All For You summons up a world of characters and draws upon the styles of physical comedy, dance, and circus, and especially on the power of you, the audience. A comedy, but with a serious theme: the role of humor, of playing the game, in our never-ending creation of self.
