Circus Harmony, St. Louis’ only social circus, complete circus school and home of the St. Louis Arches, is seeking unique individuals  to join our collaborative team.

Exceptional Circus Teaching Artist

Important note: for spring, this is a part time position that will become full time in summer, but is perfect for someone who is seriously wanting to also have a place to train and perform.
Education, Experience and Skills

Responsibilities:

  • Coaching two or more of the following:
    • Acrobatics and partner acrobatics
    • Aerials arts- trapeze, lyra, silks, rope--- solo and partner
    • Juggling
    • Equilibristics- wire, rolla bolla, unicycle, globe
  • Administrative abilities in two or more of the following:
    • Videography
    • Graphic design
    • PR/Marketing
    • Scheduling all classes and coaches for classes
    • Grant writing
    • Grant prospecting
    • Organizing fundraising and rehearsals for our annual show
  • Qualifications:
    • Best candidate has experience with performing, teaching, and/or choreographing in the circus arts
    • Willing to work with people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
    • Must be legal to work in the U.S.
    • Must have a car or reliable transportation
    • Preferably someone looking for long-term placement

Full Time Acrobatic Teaching Artist
The Acrobatics Coach is a key member of our Teaching Artists team since we believe acrobatics to be the primary core skill for all circus arts. We are seeking a reliable and adaptable individual who is highly knowledgeable about acrobatic technique and able to work independently and in a team. Needs to be calm and creative with a good sense of humor to appreciate and survive the daily challenges of supporting a social circus that serves young people with a range of ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Must be a person of good character whose values align with Circus Harmony Code of Conduct. Candidate must be interested in serving as a role model and mentor as well as a technical coach. Will need to be willing to relocate to St. Louis.
Education, Experience and Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in Circus teaching and performing
  • High skill level in teaching solo and partner acrobatics
  • Prefer someone who can also teach Chinese pole and hoop diving
  • Knowledge of other circus genres

Exceptional Circus Teacher

Teaching Artist for Full Time Job with Benefits in St. Louis, MO.

Need expertise and experience teaching one or more of the following:

  • Aerials Arts - trapeze, lyra, silks, rope--- solo and partner
  • Acrobatics - tumbling and partner acrobatics
  • Object Manipulation - Juggling, plate spinning, diabolo, feather balancing
  • Equilibristics - wire, rolla bolla, unicycle, globe

Qualifications:

  • Best candidate has experience with performing, teaching, and/or choreographing in the circus arts
  • Willing to work with people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
  • Must be legal to work in the U.S.
  • Need to have reliable transportation

Experience in following a plus:

  • Videography
  • Graphic design
  • PR/Marketing

We are a social circus that also offers recreational and professional training.

Regular performing opportunities are also available!

Ready-to-go one person shows a plus.

Circus Teaching Intern

If you are interested in making teaching circus arts a career, we offer internships for all circus arts and levels. These are unpaid positions but there is also space and opportunities for training and performing.

We are always looking for people interested in long-term placements, who would like to call our circus their home.

Our students range from beginner to pre-professional. Alumni have performed with Cirque du Soleil, 7 Fingers, Circa, Ringling Brothers and more. There are opportunities to perform, if desired. Our students and teachers present over 500 shows a year to over 89,000 people a year.
