We did a show today for a Druze summer camp. Never heard of that religion? Neither had I! Looking in the audience, you couldn’t tell if they were Arab, Jewish, Christian or Muslim. They were none of those; they were Druze!
This collaboration is about two youth circuses working together to create a show and present it to different audiences. We have young people juggling 5 objects, doing incredible contortion tricks, riding unicycle on a wire and creating a pyramid of 27 people. All that should be the amazing part! Not that they are Jewish and Arabs, rich and poor, American and Israeli. Not that they have to check with the police chief of a city before they visit is (as we did before going to Nazareth).
I wish you could just come see one of these wonderful shows. What matters is what the kids do, not where they are from. Wish the adults would figure that out!
