#ENGAGE

Engage can mean involve, engross, participate, charm, hold, retain, secure, battle, involve, join and connect.  Circus Harmony is a social circus. We are social artists— yes, even our 10 year olds!  We use circus to engage people. We get involved in the community.  Circus is an engrossing art form. It captivates the audience with its skill and daring.  Our students are active participants. They are part of the creative process at Circus Harmony.  They  are also incredibly charming/engaging.

The circus holds your attention. Our students are retained through circus.  We use circus to battle social issues. Our Peace Through Pyramids work that we have been involved in since 2007 in Israel is a great example.  Now, thanks to a Social Impact grant from the Regional Arts Commission and a PNC Project grant from the Arts and Education Council of St. Louis, we are taking Peace Through Pyramids to Ferguson!

We hope you will join with us. There are many ways to connect with Circus Harmony. Come see a show. Book our students. Take a class at City Museum, Raintree School or Saul Mirowitz School. Sign up for Circus Performance Camps at City Museum or New Town in St. Charles. You can come fly with us when re-open the Circus Harmony Flying Trapeze Center at Union Station on April 1.

Oh yes, there is another meaning (or perhaps it is all of the above rolled into one) of engage:  wedding engagement. Like Sidney Iking Bateman did. In the Circus Harmony ring at City Musuem (circus ring, wedding ring, ring in the New Year, ring-around-the rosie) on March 7. Did you miss it? See it here.

There are many ways to get engaged in the world. We challenge you! Go get engaged!  To a person. To a cause. To something. Then, write and tell us about it. On Twitter: #Engage or email us with ‘Engage’ in the subject line to circusday@circusharmony.org.   Go!
